Weathering heavy traffic with WordPress and Turbocharged | Turbocharged
Great article for WordPress users about optimizing your site for heavy traffic. Also, it gives an example for using squid to go between the user and Apache to reduce server load.
Personally, I use WP-Cache, and everything seems to work out fine.
